In 1321, the local lord Dětoch of Třebelovice founded the new town of Žiželice beside the original settlement. The old settlement is today's Končice. The Gothic Church of St Procopius, on the eastern side of the historic centre, was rebuilt in stone after 1347, replacing an earlier wooden church. The ground floor of the 1800 town hall houses a museum on local history and an ethnographic collection that includes guild banners.
