Flower delivery to Ždánice from a Kutná Hora florist

The municipality of Ždánice lies about 5 km from Kouřim and 20 km west of Kolín. In 1305, King Wenceslas II confirmed the donation of the village to the Cistercian monastery in Sedlec.

The Church of St Gall was a parish church in the 14th century and acquired its present appearance, including the tower’s onion dome, during rebuilding in 1888–1890. The monument to Antonín Švehla, locally known as Panák, was created in 1935–1936 and turned into a memorial to the victims of the Second World War in 1946. Remains of the double ramparts of an early Slavic hillfort from the 9th–10th century survive in the woods near Ždánice; the hillfort covered about 10 hectares.
