UP

Vrbčany lies about 15 km west of Kolín. The I/12 road runs south of the village. The Výrovka stream flows along its north-eastern edge.

The first written record of Vrbčany dates from 1070, when Prince Vratislav II donated the local land to the Vyšehrad Chapter. St Wenceslas Church is the village's landmark and stands on a slight rise in its centre. Its Baroque reconstruction was completed in 1728.
