Košice lies about 11 km south-west of Kutná Hora. Road II/337 passes through the village.

The first written mention of the village dates to around 1310; in the 14th century, it belonged to the Malešov estate. The Gothic Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Košice is a filial church of the Roman Catholic parish of Uhlířské Janovice. Its tower has two bells dating from the 15th century, and the year 1563 is carved into the main portal.
