Flower delivery to Grunta from a florist in Kutná Hora

Grunta lies about 2.5 km north-west of the centre of Kutná Hora. The village's first written mention, in 1305, is connected with silver mining.

At Grunta's southern edge stands the Neo-Romanesque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. It was built by builder Jan Sklenář between 1905 and 1909. Slag heaps from the 14th to the 16th century have been preserved in the village. They are remains of smelting works where silver ore from nearby mines was processed.
