The village of Bratčice lies in the Kutná Hora area. It is about 7 km south-east of Čáslav. The first written record of the village dates to 1126.
The Church of St Wenceslas in Bratčice was built in 1350, when the village belonged to the Teutonic Order. Engineer Jan Perner was born at the mill in Bratčice in 1815; he built the first railway in Bohemia. The Tisá skála rock formation lies in the woods between Bratčice and Přibyslavice.
